Westville shoppers go all out for grocery drive

The groceries were sorted by Rotarians and then distributed to those in need in the area.

DESPITE trying times, the Westville community was once again generous in its support of the Rotary Club of Westville’s annual grocery collection.

George Carr and Christel Barrett of the Rotary Club of Westville load the first batch of groceries collected.

The collection was held across two days and the donated food was then handed over to needy aged residents and the balance was given to the Combined Churches Foodbank for distribution to members of the Westville community who are still suffering the effects of the Covid-19 lockdown.

“Thank you Westville for your generosity! You have made an enormous difference in the lives of those among us who are less fortunate,” said the president of the Rotary Club of Westville, Geoff Dawson.

Claudia Du Plessis generously contributes to the collection drive.
