Man sentenced to 20 years for Westville house robbery
His two accomplices were shot dead in a shootout between the suspects and the homeowner.
A 33-YEAR-OLD taxi driver, who was arrested for a house robbery in Westville, was sentenced at the Durban High Court to 20 years imprisonment.
Westville SAPS communications officer, Capt Elizabeth Squires said the incident took place in August 2020 in Grace Avenue.

According to Squires, two male accomplices were shot dead, while trying to flee the scene, in a shootout between the suspects and the homeowner.
“The third suspect was arrested in the vehicle and detained for house robbery. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison and was also linked to various other crimes in different areas,” said Squires.
