St Mary’s celebrates top learners

This year's Dux was Megan Turner.

ST Mary’s DSG, Kloof celebrated the hard work and commitment of all its matric learners during its annual High School Awards Ceremony on Friday, October 8.

The girls once again produced outstanding marks and were recognised for their academic attainment.

Dr Laura Redman, the guest speaker, matriculated from St Mary’s in 1997. She was awarded the National Old Girls’ Award for 2021.

Redman addressed the girls and left them with several profound thoughts to take with them as they begin their careers after school.

This year’s Dux, Megan Turner won the subject prizes for physical sciences, Afrikaans (written) and English (oral communication).

The proxime accessit to Dux, Erin Lombard (deputy headgirl – service) won the subject prizes for mathematics (core), mathematics advanced programme and dramatic arts (theory)

The Dux and proxime accessit to Dux worked exceptionally hard and, in addition to winning various subject prizes, were awarded the coveted first and second place respectively.
