African Women Writers Symposium heads to Kloof
This annual event comes to the Highway area for the first time.
THE 7th African Women Writers Symposium (AWWS) will host a special Afro Jazz concert and poetry show at the Amazulu Gardens and Sculpture Precinct in Kloof this Sunday, December 12.
The event is supported by the Department of Sports, Art and Culture (DSAC) and produced by Afro Arts SA, in partnership with Amazulu Gardens.

This event, usually hosted in Johannesburg, will be held in Kloof for the first time.
The line up features artists, such as trombone player, vocalist, lyricist and songwriter, Siya Makuzeni.
Makuzeni is also a Johnnie Walker Ambassador (2019), British Council Commissioned Composer (2018) and a recipient of the Standard Bank Young Artist for Jazz (2016).
“We have been wanting to bring our Women Writers Symposium to Durban and are delighted to finally have been granted the opportunity to do so. We are looking forward to bringing Durban audiences this wonderful combination of music and words,” said organiser, Roshnie Moonsammy.
Authors and performing poets, Thando Fuze, Sindiswa ‘Lady Africa’ Zulu and Luleka Mhlanzi will close the show.
Tickets are from R120 and are available on Webtickets. The show starts at 14:00.
