Jes Foord Foundation open for free trauma counselling

The non-profit organisation runs various projects in an effort to educate, create awareness and change the attitudes of individuals through advocacy.

THE Jes Foord Foundation, a local trauma and rape crisis organisation, has opened its doors and is fully operational after the holiday season closure.

The foundation offers free trauma counselling to survivors of rape, molestation and sexual assault, as well as to family and loved ones affected by the trauma.

“Our trained counsellors’ main objective is the commitment to the full restoration and healing of the survivor. Our trauma counselling is available to survivors of any age, regardless if the assault occurred recently or a long time ago where the survivor may not have had the opportunity to seek help,” said the organisation.

The non-profit organisation also runs a handbag project, an ongoing initiative whereby its team collects new and used handbags that are filled with toiletries and care items to assist a rape victim after the initial reporting process.

To book a free trauma counselling session, or to arrange a drop-off for the handbag project, contact 0861 333 449 or email admin@jff.org.za.
