Highway majorettes calls on all drummies young and old

The Highway Majorette group is desperate to revive their team with new members.

LOOKING to pick up a new hobby? The Highway Majorette group is looking to expand and calls on all senior, former and beginner drummies to join its team.

According to coach, Elmarie Samual, their tertiary team has dwindled over the years, and they are desperate to revive their team with new members.

“The tertiary level starts from the age of 18 and above, and we haven’t had a team in years and many girls move away once they reach that age,” said Samual.

The Highway Majorette team meets at Gelofte Skool on Tuesday’s at 17:30 under the supervision of coaches, Elmarie Samual and Liezel Jooste.

“So far we have has interest from ladies from the ages of 23 to 50, and we can’t wait to have more,” she said.

If this strikes your fancy, the drummies group will host an Open Day on Saturday, February 12 at Gelofte Skool from 10:00 to 12:00.

The group has reduced its membership price for ex-drummies and new walk-in members.
