Pitlochry learners show love for the animals

The Kloof and Highway SPCA thanked the principal, educators, learners and parents for their generous donation. 

PITLOCHRY School hosted a food drive in aid of the Kloof and Highway SPCA.

This was part of the school’s community outreach programme.

Janine Kyle from the Kloof SPCA said it was wonderful to create awareness about animal welfare and it is vital that children learn empathy for animals.

“We need to educate children on treating all animals with kindness and encourage them to be ambassadors by speaking to their families and community about caring for sentient beings,” said Kyle.

Janine thanked the principal, educators, learners and parents for their generosity in donating food as the SPCA had been short of wet food in particular.

Money was also collected which will be used by the school to purchase more tinned food to donate.
