Embo woman nabbed with an illegal gun and stolen items
Police also seized a vehicle which was reported to be hijacked in the Berea area in December 2021.
A 25-YEAR-OLD woman appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Monday, May 9 facing charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, defeating the ends of justice and possession of goods suspected to be stolen.
Police also seized a vehicle which upon investigation conducted by police, revealed that the vehicle was hijacked in the Berea area during December 2021.

The woman was arrested on Saturday, May 7 after Hillcrest police received information about stolen goods which were kept at a house in Embo.
“Police proceeded to the said address and they found a 25-year-old female who allowed them to search the house,” said KZN police spokesperson, Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo.
Ngobo said a rifle and 59 rounds of ammunition were recovered as well as other stolen property.
“The woman informed police that the items belong to her boyfriend who was not in the house during the arrest. The woman was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm, defeating the ends of justice and possession of goods suspected to be stolen,” said Ngcobo.
