Kloof High School Class of 1973 re-unite

Former school mates meet to reminisce about the good times in their school.

NOSTALGIA hung heavy in the air as the Matric Class of 1973 re-united for a memorable afternoon stroll down memory lane. This gathering was a testament to the enduring bonds and memories that were forged in their beloved halls of education. From tales of Mr Barton, the enigmatic principal from their year, to daring escapades, like ringing the forbidden bell during our school tour, it was an afternoon filled with laughter, reflection and shared history.

As they all eagerly embarked on their journey through the hallowed corridors, the school building, while showcasing the wear and tear of time, still held its charm, evoking fond memories of a time when they were just starting to carve out their futures.

The memories of their teacher from their year were woven into the very fabric of their shared experiences. His stern demeanour often hid a heart of gold, and many attendees fondly recalled the wisdom and guidance he imparted during their formative years. Excitement fell over the group as they approached the legendary ‘forbidden bell’. Some of the more adventurous souls among them couldn’t resist the temptation and dared to ring the bell once more. Mr Houghton, their beloved art and English teacher, also made an appearance. His presence filled the group with warmth and gratitude. Many fondly recounted how he had nurtured their creativity and ignited their love for literature and art. It was a touching moment as they thanked him for the impact he had on their lives.
