Pinetown Senior Primary to celebrate legacy of 140 years

The school says with a rich history dating back to 1886, it has established itself as the cornerstone of education in the Pinetown area.

PINETOWN Senior Primary School (PSPS) has planned a birthday celebration for August 28 to commemorate the school’s 140-year legacy.

The chair of the school’s 140th planning committee, Soloshni Moodley, said as August is the school’s official birthday, several events have been hosted as build-ups to the main event.

“One of which was a lady’s luncheon fundraiser with the theme Glamour’s in Green: Hounoring Her, Celebrating Us, which was held on 15 August. The ladies in attendance were inspired by guest speakers and treated to spot prizes,” said Moodley.

Other events included a commemorative T-shirt competition, where a Grade Five learner, Hannah Ramlugan, won the leading design.

“In May, PSPS hosted the Build It U13 soccer and netball tournament where young athletes from across Pinetown showcased their skills. The event was graced by coaches and players from AmaZulu Football Club and gained a feature on SABC 3 Top Billing,” said Moodley.

Moodley added that with a rich history dating back to 1886, PSPS has established itself as the cornerstone of education in the Pinetown area and is committed to providing quality inclusive and transformative education.
