Multiple people injured in a taxi accident in Inchanga

Passengers sustained moderate to serious injuries when the taxi they were travelling in rolled down an embankment.

FIFTEEN people have been injured in a horrific taxi accident on the R103 Inchanga and Station Drive in Inchanga just before 07:00 on Monday morning. 

ALS Paramedics Medical services reported that they received multiple calls saying that a taxi had overturned with multiple patients on the scene.

“On arrival at the scene, they found total chaos as they saw multiple patients had been ejected as the taxi rolled down the embankment, coming to rest down the embankment on its roof. A total of fifteen patients had sustained various injuries, ranging from moderate to serious, with one patient sustaining critical injuries,” said ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson. 

Jamieson said the events leading up to the accident are unknown, however, SAPS were at the scene and will be investigating further.
