The 10-week programme aims to provide an inclusive and supportive environment for individuals to achieve their personal fitness goals.

Adam Walker, a club member, said they received about 80 entries – evident in the first walk’s turnout.

“Our commitment extends beyond physical fitness – we strive to contribute to the overall well-being of our community by encouraging teamwork, volunteerism and camaraderie. Whether you’re an experienced runner or just starting out, Chiltern Athletic Club welcomes you to join us in making a positive impact,” Walker said.

Fellow club members credited the Scratch Club for their fitness success. Sonia Evans, who joined almost a decade ago as an unfit beginner, now boasts race belts under her name. Jenna Van Greuhen, who started in 2017, shared similar sentiments. “This has become family; I’ve made friends and connections that are a big part of my life. It’s more than just a running/walking club,” she said.
