SAPS calls on residents to attend imbizo
Bellair community members are invited to engage with their local police in their imbizo meeting.
THE station commander of the Bellair police station has urged residents within its policing precinct to attend the next community crime imbizo.
Lieutenant Colonel Braveman Dladla explained the imbizo is a community engagement and provides a way for residents and various roleplayers to voice their concerns or address service delivery issues to the SAPS.

It forms part of a collective action taken by the SAPS together with various stakeholders, including the Bellair Community Police Forum and other law enforcement departments.
The meetings also give Bellair SAPS a forum to discuss crime trends and patterns affecting the area.
“This meeting is open to anyone in the community and it also involves senior management at the station, including Captain Prithviraj Kumar, the Visible Policing (Vispol) Commander of Bellair SAPS and Captain Paul de Waal, head of the detective branch. We encourage the community to attend and engage with us as this provides an invaluable platform to open dialogues between the station and the community.

“Part of the meeting also gives us an opportunity to introduce the community to our station management and the roles we play. We’ve hosted a few imbizos already and we welcome any questions or issues raised at the meeting. These meetings also allow us to provide feedback on ongoing cases. Our common purpose is service delivery and we must oversee this duty. We also have the Bellair CPF and other roleplayers on board who assist us in our endeavours,” he said.
The next community imbizo takes place on Saturday, April 12 at 10:00 at Bellair Primary School
