Inner West Metro cop honoured at Premier’s awards
The Metro Police have congratulated Colonel Siyabonga Dlamini for being named the Premier's Excellence Award Best Employee for the Year.
THE Durban Metro Police Service (DMPS) has expressed its pride in and congratulated Colonel Siyabonga Dlamini of the Inner West Region on being named the Premier’s Excellence Award Best Employee of the Year.
The awards were held at the Durban ICC on Friday, July 3.
The DMPS said: “This prestigious honour reflects his unwavering dedication, exemplary leadership, and commitment to service excellence. Throughout his career, Colonel Dlamini has consistently demonstrated the ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including the South African Police Service, other law enforcement agencies, municipal departments, and community structures.
“His collaborative approach has significantly contributed to safer communities and more effective service delivery. This well-deserved achievement is a testament to his professionalism, integrity, and passion for serving the people of eThekwini Municipality.

“Congratulations, Colonel Dlamini. Your achievement is an inspiration to the entire DMPS family. We are immensely proud of you.”
Last year, Dlamini was saluted for his stellar leadership qualities by being named the second finalist for the Best Manager of the Year award at the eThekwini Municipality Excellence Awards.
Dlamini has served in the DMPS for just over 18 years and was deployed to the Pinetown Division as Acting Colonel in 2022.
