E-hailing driver allegedly rapes 17-year-old

The police say a 17-year-old victim was allegedly raped by an e-hailing driver on Saturday (July 18) in Pinetown.

THE police in Pinetown are investigating a case of rape after a 17-year-old was allegedly victimised by an e-hailing driver.

KZN SAPS spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Paul Magwaza, confirmed that the Pinetown Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) have opened a case of rape following the incident which allegedly occurred on Saturday (July 18).

An anonymous source has said that this is a second similar incident, with another reported just over a month ago, with a suspect in that matter arrested.

However, the police have not confirmed whether the investigation for this incident is ongoing.
