Occupants die in a multi-vehicle collision in Mariannhill

Six vehicles have collided, claiming four lives. Rescuing of victims is still underway.

FOUR people have been killed in a multi-vehicle collision on the N3 in Mariannhill on Tuesday morning. 

Reporting on the incident, Medi Response Search and Rescue spokesperson Paul Herbst said the multi-vehicle collision involved six vehicles and two trucks.

“One light motor vehicle was swept beneath a truck and was severely damaged, killing all four occupants. Multiple patients are being treated on scene, and extrication of the deceased is ongoing,” they said. 

Traffic remains affected.
