“This is the 21st running of this event because we missed the 2021 edition due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Kearsney Striders chairman Andrew Fleming.
It will start at 06:00 from the entrance of the school.
“The route is challenging and includes Botha’s Hill, Alverstone, and Assagay along the way. The race is an eagerly anticipated event in the KZN Athletics Road-Running calendar and is well known for being superbly organised, enjoyable and yet a ‘toughie’,” he said.
This race is a good early indicator of one’s fitness level at the start of the running season.
Free T-shirts will be given to the first 1 000 entrants. Entries can be done online at www.eventtiming.co.za or in person at the clubhouse on Saturday from 12:00 to 15:00.
“We wish all competitors a strong race and look forward to miles of smiles. Lastly, a huge thank you to Kearsney College for the use of this magnificent facility. And to our sponsors: ND Engineering, SPAR Main group of companies, Eurosteel, Key Truck and BA Builders.
“I also wish to thank the hardworking committee for making all this possible,” added Fleming.
