Homeless man finds foetus in Pinetown dustbin

The foetus was found in a dustbin wrapped in a black refuse bag.

PINETOWN police have opened an inquest docket after a foetus was found in the dustbin at the corner of Crompton and Kings roads yesterday, February 27.

Captain Bongumsa Manqele, Pinetown Cluster communications officer, said the foetus was found wrapped with a black refuse bag at about 11:00.

According to Manqele, the foetus was discovered by a homeless man who was looking for food, and he alerted the police who were in the vicinity.

“Police are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding the foetus to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Pillay on 083 783 1443 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
