Armed men rob a petrol station in New Germany

The three suspects fled with R10 000 and two cellphones.

THREE suspects stole R10 000 at a petrol station in New Germany last night, Thursday, October 26.

According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer Jennifer Naidu, a man came into the Quick Shop and asked the cashier if they sold electricity.

“It is alleged that the suspect went out and returned with another two men, and one suspect wearing a leather jacket pulled out a firearm and pointed it towards the employees.

“The workers were forced to lie on the floor. The suspects demanded money from the cashier, and when she opened the till, one of the suspects jumped over and took the money. They also fled with two cellphones,” reported Naidu.

A case of business robbery has been opened at Pinetown SAPS.

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
