Shop and nibble at Cheshire Home

The Queensburgh Cheshire Home is now comprised of several charity shops which locals can support.

THERE are several items you can purchase at the Queensburgh Cheshire Home in Mosely, and by doing so, you are helping the home care for and support people with physical disabilities.

The home opened its doors in 1965 and has grown tremendously since then, now comprised of several charity shops that locals can support.

Speaking to Queensburgh News, home manager Brian Rossenrode said locals can find white elephant, second-hand books, toys, a plant nursery, a tea garden, bits and bobs and clothes and shoes available for the picking.

“Our latest shop, which has been added to the stable, is the toy shop that was opened last December. We had plans to build the toy shop for over a year before it opened and were so thankful when it finally became a reality, all thanks to the Forget-Me-Not Club for the disabled. They donated the funds to build the structure,” he said.

He encouraged locals to support the toy store and other shops at the home which are filled with interesting pieces and hidden gems.

“Come along and browse and buy. You will most probably find what you are looking for and more,” he added.

The shops and tea garden are opened on Tuesdays and Fridays from 08:30 to midday.

Next on the Cheshire Home social calendar is an open day which takes place at the home on Saturday, March 2, from 08:30 to 13:00, where there will be stalls to shop at and lots of fun to be had.

Patrons can expect a tea and beer garden, live music, yummy food, antiques and collectibles. All shops will be opened on the day, too.

The home has also put up a wish list with food items they are in need of, ranging from canned goods to dry foods.
