Tanya supports women in business

Cowies Hill resident Tanya Fleischer has been appointed as the KZN Women in Business vice-chairperson.

“WHO runs the world? Girls! Be brave, be you, be inspiring, be genuine, be who you want to be, and the rest will fall into place.” – These are the words of Tanya Fleischer who has been appointed as the KZN Women in Business (KZNWIB) vice-chairperson.

During her two-year term, Fleischer encourages more women in business to learn, grow, connect and support one another.

KZN Women in Business is a non-profit networking organisation which was started in 1995. It is a support structure for women and a forum for fostering relationships, building networks, exchanging business knowledge and, ultimately, helping women grow their businesses.

The Cowies Hill resident said she is honoured to be voted in as the vice-chairperson, and it feels good to know that members trust that she can do great things in her role.

In her position, Fleischer said she will support the chairperson to keep the committee running as a smooth team and to implement new and exciting initiatives over the next two years.

She advised women to be brave and take a leap of faith.

“Women who want to start a business must have a mentor, or someone they can trust to bounce ideas off and someone in business who can guide them. Join a networking group like KZNWIB to connect with likeminded women who will support and guide you!”

She said her inspiration comes from people who show genuine kindness and love for someone. “I admire people who are passionate about giving back, donating or collecting for charity.”

Outside of business, Fleischer described herself as a crazy cat lady and has eight cat kids at home who keep her busy.

“I love attending events and shows, and when I have the time, I love to bake.”

She also has been married for 13 years and is a mother to a seven-year-old son.

Sanelisiwe Tsinde

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
