Hillcrest Library to host senior citizens and community members

Departments will be present to help community members use service delivery for their help.

THE Hillcrest Library is inviting pensioners and community members from Hillcrest and surrounding areas to a special programme designed for their enjoyment and education.

On December 4, the library will host senior citizens and the community for a day of entertainment and learning about public sector services.

The event will feature various departments, including Home Affairs, Health, the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) and private companies. Hillcrest librarian Maureen Makhanya said the programme is making a comeback after the Covid-19 pandemic.

“This longstanding programme shows our care for citizens, especially those living alone who may struggle with new online systems. This day is dedicated to providing them with essential information as valued community members,” she said.

The programme starts at 09:00 and welcomes all community members.
