9 armed men rob a shop in Pinetown

The suspects loaded the stolen items onto two vehicles that they were travelling in.

NINE armed men fled with garden equipment and cash when they stormed into a store in Railway Road, Pinetown on Tuesday, January 28.

According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer Jennifer Naidu, it is alleged that the complainant, who is a manager, was in the shop with two assistants when they were approached by nine unknown men.

“The suspects forced the complainant and the assistants to lie on the floor. They stole garden equipment, cash, cellphone and a laptop which they loaded onto two Hyundai bakkies which they had arrived in,” said Naidu.

No shots were fired and Pinetown police are investigating a case of business robbery.
