WATCH: Tree falls on Escom Road, blocking traffic
Road users are advised to drive cautiously as they approach Escom Road in New Germany.
A TREE fell on Escom Road in New Germany on Tuesday morning and obstructed traffic as severe weather conditions, including damaging winds, were reported throughout eThekwini and the province.
These weather conditions are a result of a Cut-Off Low-Pressure System and include heavy snow, damaging winds, and significant rainfall.
Road users are advised to drive cautiously as they approach Escom Road in New Germany.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the public was advised to take note of the weather warning issued by the South African Weather Service (SAWS) for the upcoming week.
In addition to the Level 2 warning, there is a Level 4 warning of damaging waves expected from early Tuesday morning into Thursday. All the above weather alerts include the eThekwini region.
The City advises residents to exercise caution, to stay indoors if possible, and to avoid travelling unless absolutely necessary. “Residents living in flood-prone areas, including informal settlements, are advised to take the necessary safety precautions. The public is reminded to not cross flooded rivers and streams.”
This alert is subject to change, as the SAWS will update the warning accordingly.
