Tee off for animal rescue shelter

This year’s chosen beneficiary, Paw Prints, holds a special place in the hearts of the Boytjie Brand team. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to support their tireless work in rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need.

THE Upper Highway animal rescue organisation, Paw Prints, has been chosen as the beneficiary of this year’s Boytjie Brand Golf Day.

Returning for its third consecutive year, the local clothing brand golf day will be held on Friday, June 20 at the Kloof Country Club.

Owner and founder of Paw Prints, Jade Ashford, said they are ecstatic and grateful to have been chosen as the beneficiary of this year’s Boytjie Brand Golf Day.

“Their support means the world to us, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.”

Ashford said Paw Prints is a passionate rescue organisation dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned and neglected dogs.

Every day, the rescue organisation fights to give vulnerable pups a second chance at life — offering them the love, care, and future they deserve.

“Currently, we’re facing mounting financial pressure, with vet bills reaching over R100 000 and the monthly operational costs sitting at around R160 000.”

Like many rescues, Paw Prints said one of their biggest challenges is the lack of consistent funding.

“Donations come and go, but the need is constant. This incredible gesture from the Boytjie Brand community will go a long way in helping us continue our mission and meet some of our most urgent expenses.”

Ashford added that they would love animal lovers, who are looking to welcome a new fur-friend, to meet their rescues.

“And if adoption isn’t possible, there are so many ways to support — whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or simply sharing our story. Every bit of help makes a difference,” she said.

The golf day will see 140 participants.

“There are nearly 85 sponsors ranging from tees to greens and prize donations. As a proudly local brand, The Boytjie Brand is overwhelmed with gratitude for the phenomenal support from the community, golfers, and businesses,” said Tyrone Rudolph, founder of the clothing brand.

“It’s an honour to put on such a massive golf event within our local community and to be able to give back to a local beneficiary such as Paw Prints.”

The grateful Rudolph added that they appreciate the support from the community and Kloof Country Club to make this golf day another successful event for everyone involved.

“A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to support Paw Prints’ tireless work in rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need. Our love for animals made Paw Prints an easy choice – we trust our contribution will help them achieve even more,” said Rudolph.
