Substance suspected to be cocaine taken off the streets
Police say a 33-year-old man was arrested in Westville for being in possession of a white powdered substance which was in 14 small bags.
THE Westville SAPS have been commended by their station commander for last week’s arrest which resulted in a substance suspected to be cocaine being removed from the streets.
A 33-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of the substance which was in 14 small bags.

Westville SAPS spokesperson Captain Elizabeth Squires confirmed the arrest, which was carried out while police officers were patrolling the Westville area and “noticed” the suspect who was “acting very suspiciously in the vincity of Jan Hofmeyer Road”.
“Members then followed the said male who drove off into Salisbury Road, attempting to approach the M13 freeway towards Pinetown, but was swiftly stopped by the members and upon searching the said male, members found him in possession of 14 bags of a white powdered substance suspected to be cocaine. The 33-year-old male was detained at Westville SAPS for further investigation,” said Squires.
