Embocraft’s legacy lives on

EMBOCRAFT recently unveiled its refreshed logo and revitalised brand identity, a milestone that reflects the organisation’s growth, evolving mission, and deepening impact in the Embo community.
The rebranding marks more than just a new look, it signals the launch of the Community Manufacturing Team (CMT), an exciting new division within the Embo Craft NPO.
According to Anthea Jansen, Embocraft general manager, the CMT initiative will provide essential skills training, job creation, and economic opportunities through garment and goods production, further empowering local artisans and fostering sustainable community development through collaborative skills training.

“We are thrilled to share this new chapter with our supporters, partners, and the Embo community.”
Speaking at the launch, Jansen said she was deeply humbled by the journey that has brought Embocraft from a small sewing circle in the Valley of 1000 Hills to a beacon of empowerment that touches lives across KZN and beyond.
In her speech, she honoured Brenda Locke, whose vision planted the first seeds nearly 40 years ago.
“She understood that with just a needle, a thread, and willing hands, women could begin to weave a brighter future. Today, that legacy lives on – not only through sewing, but through welding, woodwork, farming, computers, and more. Skills that give dignity. Skills that give hope. Skills that give freedom.

“Our new logo captures this spirit. The hand reminds us that our greatest value comes from what we create together – value from the hands. It is a celebration of craft, but also of humanity.”
Jansen also acknowledged the Embocraft supporters: “With your generosity, your belief, and your partnership, you place the tools into people’s hands.”
