Sign up for wild ride

The inaugural Balwin Properties WILD RIDE, taking place at the beautiful Westown Square precinct on Sunday, October 19 will be partnering with the eThekwini Mountain Bike Association (EMBA) as they prepare exciting routes for the various races.

DON’T miss your chance to line up at the start of an exciting new event, the Balwin Properties Wild Ride, taking place at the Westown Square precinct on Sunday, October 19.

The event organisers will partner with the eThekwini Mountain Bike Association (EMBA) to prepare exciting routes for the various races.

The event will provide riders with three options, the 35km Cactus, the 18km Tumbleweed and the 8km Colt, which will dish up exciting challenges and excitement for riders of all abilities.

EMBA is an NPO dedicated to developing, maintaining, and protecting mountain biking trails across the greater Durban area.

EMBA works with landowners, municipalities, and the cycling community to create safe, sustainable, and world-class routes, while promoting responsible trail use and growing the sport of mountain biking in KZN.

“We’re excited to have the EMBA team on board this year to help with setting up our routes for the Balwin Wild Ride. They have got some exciting ideas and are an important part of mountain biking in the eThekwini area, so we are excited to have them supporting us,” said race director Damian Bradley.

With just over a month to go until the event takes place, Bradley said they are making the event as accessible to as many different riding abilities as possible.

“With race categories designed to be inclusive yet competitive, riders can look forward to a day filled with adventure, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments on the bike,” Bradley added.

Pre-entries close on Sunday, September 30, and with limited spots available, riders are encouraged to secure their place early to avoid missing out.

Sanelisiwe Tsinde

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
