Drug bust in Westville, one suspect arrested

Police say a big bag containing a substance suspected to be cocaine was found in the vehicle the suspect was driving.

POLICE in Westville on Wednesday evening arrested a 32-year-old man for possession of drugs, reportedly worth R700 000.

KZN SAPS police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Paul Magwaza said the arrested man is expected to appear in court on Thursday, December 4.

“Reports indicate that police received information about a foreign national who would be transporting drugs to the Westville area. Police spotted the said man driving a white vehicle along Morewood Crescent and requested to conduct a search. Upon searching, a big bag containing white powder suspected to be cocaine was recovered. He was then placed under arrest,” said Magwaza.
