WATERCREST Mall was buzzing with excitement as movie lovers had the rare opportunity to meet the talented cast and creative minds behind the latest local blockbuster, Treasure Hunt.

The film was created by CAP Studios, a small production company in Embo that works to nurture local talent and tell stories with purpose.

It is directed by Chim Onyebilanma, a passionate storyteller and pastor. Treasure Hunt is a Christian film that blends real-life struggles with themes of grace, second chances and the courage to choose what’s right.

Fans gathered at Watercrest Mall on Friday to celebrate South African cinema and connect with the stars who brought this thrilling adventure to life.

Among the celebrated actors were Melissa Mkhize, Shannon Kenny, Patrick Kenny, Wiseman Makhaye, and Sibahle Chonco. Adding to the excitement, attendees also met Onyebilanma, whose passion and creativity shaped the film’s unforgettable journey.

The meet-and-greet event was filled with smiles, selfies, and heartfelt conversations, as the cast shared behind-the-scenes stories and expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from local audiences.

Waterfall resident Lyndsey Sharman said, “What a brilliant movie with such a powerful message filtering through, a well-told story, and capturing so brilliantly, the poignant reality of life in our South Africa. It was lovely meeting the director, Chim, a celebrity from our hood!”
