Countdown to release date of 2025 matric results
The 2025 National Senior Certificate matric results will be released on January 12, with over 900 000 candidates awaiting their marks.
PUPILS, parents, principals and teachers are among those eagerly waiting for the announcement of the 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) results on January 12.
The official release by the Basic Education Ministry of the 2025 NSC results will be at Mosaïek in Randburg, in the Gauteng Province.
According to the ministry, registered figures reveal that over 766 543 full-time candidates sat for the NSC Examination nationally, whereas 137 018 were part-time candidates.
Overall registered candidates for the 2025 NSC Examination were over 903 561.

On results day, the 2025 Matric class can check their results in local newspapers using their exam number.
Pupils can collect their official printed statement of results from their school or examination centre.
Results can also be checked by following these steps:
- SMS your exam number to 35658 (standard rates apply)
- USSD: Dial *120*35658# and follow the prompts
You can also visit the Department of Basic Education website or download the “DBE Results” app from Google Play or the App Store and use your exam number and date of birth to log in.
