Star College Girls High U15 volleyball team makes history with gold medal win at Danville Invitational Tournament.
THE Star College Girls High U15 girls’ volleyball team emerged as winners at the recent Danville Invitational Volleyball Tournament.
The win marks a historic milestone for Star College’s sporting legacy considering that volleyball is a relatively new sport at the school.
“Throughout the intense two-day competition, the girls displayed exceptional skill, unwavering passion, and relentless dedication, earning widespread admiration from spectators and rivals alike.

“Their teamwork and resilience shone brightly, culminating in a well-deserved victory that has energised the entire school community,” said the school’s marketing manager, Sara Hayden.
The team was awarded gold medals and a floating trophy. In addition, two players received special individual awards.
Grade Eight learner Kira Sigamoney was named Most Valuable Player, showcasing her leadership and skill on the court, while Grade Nine learner Diya Naidoo earned the accolade of Best Attacker for her aggressive and accurate plays.
Their coach Arhana Debipersad expressed immense pride and excitement about the team’s achievement.
“The girls have shown incredible determination and unity. This win is a testament to their dedication and the supportive environment we foster at Star College. We are so proud of each and every one of them.”
