Nanny arrested for alleged abuse of 2-year-old girl
Pinetown police urge parents to be vigilant after a nanny was arrested in an ongoing child abuse investigation.
THE Police in Pinetown have urged local parents and guardians “to remain vigilant and to exercise due care when entrusting others with their children”.
This as the Pinetown SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is investigating a case of child abuse reported to the police on April 13.
It is alleged that the incident occurred on April 10 in the Pinetown area.
The station’s communications officer Jennifer Naidu confirmed that a common case of assault has been opened for investigation at the station after a complaint was lodged by the parents of the two-year-old girl.

“It is alleged that the child was assaulted by a nanny who reportedly threw a ball at the child. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
“The investigation is being handled by Warrant Officer Ethel Ndlovu. The case remains under investigation, and no findings or court outcomes have been finalised at this stage,” said Naidu.
Naidu reminded parents and guardians that the safety and well-being of their children is of paramount importance.
