FRESH from being crowned International Junior Miss South Africa 2026, Pinetown’s Danielle Visser said representing the country on the international stage is both an honour and a responsibility.

“Winning this title is an incredible honour and something I’m still taking in,” said the 22-year-old.

“Representing South Africa is a privilege I don’t take lightly. I hope to showcase the kindness, resilience and potential of South African women with grace, authenticity and confidence.”

Having previously won the International Junior Miss South Africa Teen title in 2022, she said returning to compete in the Miss division challenged her to grow both personally and professionally.

“Balancing modelling, work and pageantry requires discipline and purpose. It comes down to good time management and remembering why I’m doing it,” said the former Westville Girls’ High School learner.

“I’m also incredibly grateful for my family’s support, which keeps me grounded and motivated,” she added.

Away from the pageant stage, light and cameras, Visser enjoys rock climbing, a hobby she said has taught her valuable life lessons.

“I was first introduced to rock climbing a few years ago, and I loved how it challenged me both physically and mentally. Every climb requires patience, problem-solving and perseverance which are qualities I’ve carried into other areas of my life as well.

“Although I don’t get to climb as often these days because of work, modelling and pageantry commitments, it is still something I really enjoy and would love to make more time for again.”

Using her platform to give back is one of her biggest priorities. Passionate about children’s and animal welfare, she believes a title should be about more than wearing a crown.

“Every child deserves to feel loved and encouraged, and animals deserve kindness and care. I want to use my platform to inspire compassion and remind people that even the smallest act of kindness can make a lasting difference.”

Looking back on her 2022 victory, she says it prepared her for this new chapter. “It taught me that a crown is about much more than a competition; it’s about leadership, service and representing something bigger than yourself.”

She advised young girls to believe in themselves, work hard, stay true to their values and never stop showing kindness.

“Success looks different for everyone and each of us has the ability to make a positive impact in our own unique way. I hope to encourage young girls to dream big, lead with compassion and remember that true beauty comes from your character and the way you treat others.”
