Thank you

Linda expresses her thanks to the people who supported the Street Collection on Saturday June 27.

EDITOR – I would be most grateful if you could publish a word of appreciation to the very generous folk that supported our Street Collection on Saturday June 27.

The collection was for the Sunfield Home in Howick, which provides excellent lifelong care for the mentally handicapped adult residents. While the Home is situated in Howick, many of the families live in the greater Durban area, which is why we do our fund raising here. We sincerely appreciate the open hearted response to our appeal. We raised just short of R10 000 which in today’s difficult economic climate is admirable. Sadly, many of our best collecting spots of former years are no longer available to us due to the policy of the administrators. However, we are most grateful to those that do allow us to stand. They clearly have the best and kindest clientele! We would also like to thank the kind folk that held boxes for us. It is not the most pleasant way to spend a Saturday morning. Perhaps most amazing aspect is the fact that they help us so regularly! To all of you, just know that your kindness will help make a difference in the quality of life of the special residents of Sunfield Home.
