Sub forum voting not restricted

Gillitts resident raises important points regarding CPF constitution.

EDITOR – The senior manager of the Department of Community Safety and Liaison needs to read the Community Police Forum (CPF) constitution, which categorically states the Constitution of a CPF must be adopted by majority vote and a chairperson, and an executive committee elected in accordance with the procedure provided for in the constitution.

Each member present at the annual general meeting referred to in section 8.1 has one vote for each position of the Executive Committee and section 8.1 says the CPF is composed of members from community based organisations, institutions, interest groups and the general public who are broadly representative of the community in the station area.

Nowhere does it state that voting is restricted to representatives of sub-forums.
