Humps on St Augustine Road

"The biggest mistake drivers make, is to drive too close to the car in front of them, then they can't stop on time if that car slows down."

EDITOR – Further to the letter regarding St Augustine Road, the road itself is innocent. It doesn’t deserve to be punished with humps. In my 12 years of using this road, I never saw an accident or speeding. You can’t speed with all its bends (accidents can happen in any road).

The biggest mistake drivers make, is to drive too close to the car in front of them, then they can’t stop on time if that car slows down. When they had their driver’s lessons and test, they were told what distance to keep. Up to 60km/h should not cause an accident. A camera with a warning, if really needed, is the best solution.
