Thank you to wonderful Westville folk

Westville Lions Club will conduct their food collections at Pick n Pay Village Market in Jan Hofmeyr Road, Westville.

MAY I take this opportunity to thank the generous folk in Westville who over the last 25 years have supported the Westville Lions Club food collection at Westville Mall.

You have made a wonderful difference to the lives of hundreds of needy folk.

You must be wondering where we are as we just disappeared after the November collection.

Unfortunately we have been told by Growth Point Management that we are incurring a fire hazard and that the Pinetown Fire Department has not given us permission to carry on collecting.

I have not been able to verify this as Mr Pillay, the Fire Chief’s telephone number is continuously engaged and there is no email address available.

Never-the-less we approached Mark, the manager at Spar Westville, who kindly allowed us to collect on the 17 December outside his store.

What a fantastic response we received, five and a half trolley loads worth R1500 each, so we were able to meet our commitments, to Pinetown Child and Family Welfare, Salvation Army and 11 folk living in Westville who only receive the government pension of less than R1500 per month.

Unfortunately Mark does not wish to have collectors every month (just twice a year) so we have found a new venue for the month of January.

You will find us at Pick n Pay Village Market in Jan Hofmeyr Road.

I do hope you will support us in our new venue as so many people rely on your generosity.

Many thanks again.
