State Vet Service injects confidence

Reader said she was impressed by the State Vet's rabies vaccination campaign.

LAST year, I had the pleasure of thanking, in your newspaper, the team that administered Rabies shots to dogs and cats at Everton Park.

It was the same this year.

Led by Harold Roberts, control animal health technician supervisor, animal health technicians Sabashnee Moodley, Hilda Chiliza, Zanelle Gwala, Bongani Mokgakane and pupil health animal technician, Nzuzo Dubazane were cheerful, efficient and full of enthusiasm while injecting a large number of dogs next to Kloof Town Hall.

It was something out of a Disney movie, with dogs yapping excitedly in cars, on leashes, tugging their owners up, down and backwards, a few really well trained canines who looked down their noses at the yapping hoards, and one determined Staffie-cross (mine!) who leaped out of the car and enthusiastically sniffed everything and everyone in sight.

Injections were given and certificates signed in a moment, while Supervisor Harold had time to chat calmly with dog owners who bombarded him with questions.
