Business run goes the distance

In the name of a good cause, enter your employees into this year's Business Relay and raise funds for the RedCap Foundation.

GATHER your team, lace up your running shoes and join in on the fun at the upcoming KPMG Business Relay on Saturday 9 November.

The RedCap Foundation has been adopted as the event’s Corporate Social Investment CSI initiative due to the foundation’s highly successful JumpStart programme, which focuses on combating youth unemployment throughout South Africa.

Teams that enter can choose to either run or walk the 5km business relay, which takes place at the Growthpoint Kings Park Stadium for the 29th consecutive year.

It is said to be a great team building exercise and every entry will also assist the RedCap Foundation in their quest to offer Jumpstart candidates invaluable work experience opportunities.

According to Natasja Ambrosio, the business sustainability manager for the Mr Price Group and director for the RedCap Foundation, job seekers require experience in a vast number of different sectors. “Initially, we offered work experience only within the Mr Price Group retail stores, but we realised that we need to spread the net wider and so we are looking to expand our work experience partnerships. Many of the successful Jumpstart graduates have found permanent employment following their week of experiential work, this due to the promise, potential and enthusiasm they displayed,” said Nastasja.

Early bird entries for the race close on Friday 4 October and late entries close Monday 21 October. Entry forms are available online at www.kpmg.co.za, at Mr Price Sport stores in KZN, or contact PMB Sports Promotions on 033 341 0790.
