Hillcrest Junior rugby players honoured

HVJR club honoured their players at a special prize giving ceremony.

HILLCREST Villagers Junior Rugby club held a prestigious prize giving ceremony to recognise and honour their players.

All players who participated this season received a medal and a certificate. Special players in each age group received a gold certificate and a Player of the Year trophy was awarded in each age group.

U14 Player of the Year, was Alex Little who was also chosen to represent the Durban Rugby Sub Union (DRSU) in the Interprovincial Tour where he was Captain of the U14 side. He was selected by the DRSU players as the DRSU Player of the Tournament.

Other Players of the Year were U7 – Byron Chandler, U8 – Tristan Burns, U9 – Liam Prinsloo, U10 – Adam Gibson, U11 – Jarryd Nichols, U12 – Dagan Meuwese, U13 – Keagan Hosken, U15 – Kwanele Pewa, U16 – Kevin Smit.

26 HVJR boys were selected for DRSU. They got to the finals in all the levels the entered, namely -U11B, U11A, U13A, U13B, U15B, U16A. They won U11A, U13A and U16A.
