Equestrian teams leap to top spot

HILLCREST High School’s equestrian team performed exceptionally well over the weekend. The team achieved two wins and two second place positions. The girls also did well in their own individual classes.

The dressage A team, Natasha Rothman, Ashleigh Prinsloo and Jessica Prince won again this year, while the dressage B team, Brittany Graham, Jessica Stapelberg and Erryn Hinson took second place.

The equitation team, Ashleigh Prinsloo, Ashley Fox, Rayne Paddock and Erryn Hinson improved from last’s year’s second place to winning this year.

The Hillcrest High School team, Natasha Rothman, Jessica Prince, Brittany Graham, Ashleigh Prinsloo, Ashley Fox, Jessica Stapelberg, Erryn Hinson, and Kate Mundell (flag bearer) also came second in the turnout parade. All the riders participated in this event which required four horses to be perfectly turned out and the team to look neat, efficient and smart.

Ashleigh Prinsloo, Jessica Prince, Brittany Graham and Ashley Fox, also came second in show jumping.

Hillcrest High School was the only former Model C school in the event. All other schools were private schools.
