Children introduced to baseball

Edamini Combined Primary School said the day was very interesting to the pupils.

THE Ashley Baseball Club hosted a baseball clinic for children from the Ward 16 cluster as well as neighbouring schools with the help of the eThekwini Sports and Recreation Department.

Charisse Gray, events and marketing coordinator for Ashley Saints Baseball Club, said the aim of the clinic was to introduce children in under-privileged areas to the wonderful sport of baseball.

“Many of the children have a natural talent for the sport, and we will be hosting more clinics in the new year to grow baseball and passion for the sport in each of the children.”

Gray said they would like to extend a huge thank you to Hatton KwikSPAR for sponsoring the hot dogs that the children enjoyed on the day.

Edamini Combined Primary School said the day was very interesting to the pupils.

“It was a fun day and children learnt a different sport which is not familiar to them,” he said.

The club can be contacted on 031 709 2188.
