The Sharks meet Western Province in Newlands on Saturday
"We need to focus on our strengths and improve each week" - Head coach Robert du Preez
THE Cell C Sharks will be looking to make it five in a row when they take on Western Province at Newlands on Saturday’s Currie Cup match, having won their previous four consecutive matches.
There haven’t been too many changes announced for this clash and the team has had a two-week break.

“We are pleased with where we are currently and our performances going into the break. The effort shown by the players speaks to the character of this team,” said head coach, Robert du Preez.
“We almost have to reset the button now and focus on the next few matches. Building on the momentum we gained and focussing on our strengths as well as showing improvement each week is important.”

- Due to a disciplinary issue, fullback Garth April has been omitted from the Cell C Sharks team to play in Cape Town on Saturday. This decision was taken by our player leadership group in consultation with the coaches and team manager. Our team culture demands a strong work ethic and respect for one’s self and the team is a non-negotiable. Garth is a talented player and we hope that he emerges from this with renewed focus.
