Andrew locks his opponent into submission
Caruth's latest match only lasted one minute and 30 seconds.
CONFIDENT fighter, Andrew Caruth, entered the MMA cage against his opponent, Yusuf Moola, who was 2.5kgs over weight.
“I was given the option of declining the fight, but I decided to take it instead,” said Andrew.
“He was visibly a larger guy and very experienced with a 19-4 record which I didn’t know until the last minute. He is also an accomplished kick-boxer.”
The duo traded a few kicks and punches but Andrew landed big right hand that took him down.
“I started grounding and pounding when he rolled, that’s when I caught him in an arm bar at one minute and 30 seconds into round one,” said a proud Andrew.
With another win under his belt, he is looking forward to a holiday with his family and friends before the prep begins again in mid-January for a fight in March. “If I win the next fight, I should be able to contend for the South African amateur title in June,” concluded an excited Caruth.
