Catch local tennis aces in action this weekend

Eight of the country's top tennis-playing schools will be participating.

THE 24th three-day invitation Growthpoint Kearsney Tennis Festival takes place this weekend.

Eight of the country’s top tennis-playing schools participating: Grey College (Bloemfontein), Paul Roos (Stellenbosch), Affies (Pretoria), Pretoria Boys, Selborne College (East London), Rondebosch Boys High (Cape Town), with local teams Clifton College and hosts Kearsney.

Kearsney’s 1st team consists of Greg Cobbledick, Bryce van der Merwe, Caleb Fyvie, Kade Mindry, Shail Chetty and Tristan Sebire. The games start at 8am and finish at about 5.30pm each day across the courts at Kearsney College, Highbury Preparatory School and St Mary’s DSG, Kloof.

On Saturday morning, Kearsney’s captain and number one player, Kade Mindry, will face the country’s top seeded player, Joubert Klopper, from Grey College.
