The local team snapped up two wins and one loss during their weekend games.

Kearsney U18A lost to Westville U18A 26 – 29
Kearsney U18B beat Westville U18B 42 – 12
Kearsney U18A beat St Charles U18A 31 – 12
Kearsney College’s teams put in a good performance at the weekend, particularly in the attacking game as they had little training time due to their annual leadership week.

Soccer
Northwood 1st X1 beat Kearsney 1st X1 5-3
Northwood hosted Kearsney for a soccer match on Saturday that culminated in an exciting, eight-goal thriller.
The game kicked off, Kearsney still adjusting to the field and windy conditions, and Northwood placed a through ball for their striker to run on to and score. Within a few minutes, Northwood put another two passes between the Kearsney defenders, and went up to 3 – 0.
In the second half, Kearsney scored from a penalty when the ball struck a Northwood hand in the box. Kearsney, now playing with the wind, placed a through ball between the defenders for their striker to latch on to. The score moved to 3 – 2.
The game increased in excitement as Kearsney pushed for goals and Northwood held on to their lead. Northwood broke through the Kearsney defence, once again, to score for the fourth time.
Kearsney retaliated with another goal and took the score to 4 – 3. Kearsney pushed for the equaliser, only for Northwood to counter and score again, ending up 5 – 3 victors.
