Congratulations to our Class of 2024!

Thomas More College matriculants break records

Our Thomas More College community celebrates the record-breaking Matric Class of 2024 for their passionate leadership and can-do attitude as they navigated their final examinations. We are incredibly proud to announce that this remarkable group achieved the highest number of As on record, a testament to their dedication, resilience and unwavering commitment to excellence.

We are so proud of our matrics achieving a 100% pass rate with 104 of the 107 receiving Bachelor Degree passes, and a combined total of 317 subject distinctions. 37 candidates achieved A aggregates, 34 candidates achieved B aggregates and a grade average of 74%.

This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our pupils and staff, and the unwavering support of the TMC community.

Special congratulations to Jessica Kelly on achieving 93% aggregate. 12 candidates achieved scores in the top 1% nationally in 7 or more subjects.

Thomas More College has been ranked 10th among South Africa’s Top Co-Educational Schools for the 2024 Matric results, as featured in BusinessTech.

We are proud to be recognised for academic excellence and as one of only two co-educational schools in KwaZulu-Natal on this prestigious list.

We are so proud of our Matric Class of 2024 who have performed so well.

They obtained 100% BD qualifications and achieved 314 distinctions between them, including Further Studies. This has resulted in an average of 3.45 distinctions per student.

Overall the class average was 77,2% and over 49% of the results were distinctions. Our average for individual subjects was above the national average by 9,4% overall and 76.6% of all subjects were above 70%. The matrics also achieved 20 instances in the top 1% in their subject. This is a superb accomplishment.

Our congratulations go to Georgina Thornhill, Elizabeth Anderson and Emma Stewart who achieved in the top 5% in 6 of their subjects as well as placing in the top 1% in some of their subjects as well.

Congratulations goes to Amy D’Eramo for placing in the top 5% in 5 of her subjects and in the top 1% in Geography.

The spread of distinctions, including the AP subjects, was as follows:

  • 11 girls achieved 7 distinctions
  • 9 girls achieved 6 distinctions
  • 14 girls achieved 5 distinctions
  • 9 girls achieved 4 distinctions
  • 12 girls achieved 3 distinctions
  • 10 girls achieved 2 distinctions
  • 17 girls achieved 1 distinction

In our sports programme we had 85 KZN representatives and 12 national representatives. Our hockey squad achieved some amazing results last year and were ranked fourth nationally.

Celebrating excellence at Star College - A beacon of education in KZN

We are delighted to announce that Star College has once again proven its mettle in academic excellence, as evidenced by the remarkable achievements of our 104 Matriculants this year. With a perfect pass rate of 100%, our learners have demonstrated their commitment to success in education. The stellar bachelor pass rate of 94% only further underscores the quality of education our institution provides.

Our Matric learners have achieved a staggering total of 363 As, with an impressive overall aggregate of 3.49. Notably, one standout learner achieved 9 As, while 11 others earned 8 As, affirming that hard work and perseverance truly pay off in our nurturing environment. We extend our special congratulations to Aqil Heeralall for securing third position in KZN—a fantastic accomplishment that reflects dedication and talent.

Pinetown Girls’ High School

Pinetown Girls’ High School wishes to congratulate the Class of 2024 on their results. Their hard work paid off with 161 distinctions, an overall pass-rate of 94.8%. 76.6% of the learners obtained Bachelor’s passes.  Special mention must be made of the following learners who achieved three distinctions each in the subjects indicated:

  • Sinothando Mantshule – IsiZulu HL, Dramatic Arts and Life Sciences
