MEETINGS
COWIES Hill and Westville Women’s Institute invite all women in the area, especially the newly retired, to a morning tea to be held at the Cowies Hill Hall, Woodside Avenue, on Thursday 22 August at 10am. Go along to meet new friends and find out more about what the WI has to offer. The group offers members opportunities to learn or pursue interest in creative and productive skills, from crafts to cookery to floral art at its monthly meetings and workshops. PARKINSONS Friendship Group will hold its monthly meeting in the Meeting Place of St Dominics Church, 1 Mill Road, Hillcrest on Saturday 24 August at 4pm. Please use second entrance in Mill Road. The guest speaker, neurologist, Dr Colin Wolpe, will talk about early symtons of Parkinsons and medication and possible side effects as well as answer any questions. Visitors are welcome. DURBAN Unitarian Fellowship will meet Headway, 1 Baden Road in Westville on Sunday 25 August at 10am. Guest speaker is Dr Irwin Friedman. THEOSOPHICAL Society Durban Lodge will hold a free talk at 306 Avondale Road in Morningside, Durban on Sunday 1 September at 10am. Opal Lawson will talk about The Story of the Human Soul. Some aspects of myth and fable will be touched upon.

The SAARP Upper Highway Branch Social Club will hold its monthly Bingo morning on Wednesday 21 August at 10am at the Hillcrest Sports Club. Go along for a fun morning.

GO along to The Meeting Tree market at B5 Kassier Extension in Shongweni on Sunday 1 September from 11am to 4pm. There is live music, great food, and bespoke crafters. If people are looking for a unique day out then this is the market to come to. Entrance is R10 a car to cover the cost of the band.
