Mariannpark Primary school received R10 000 for their participation in the Pick n Pay School Club art entries.

MARIANNPARK Primary School received a R10 000 cheque from the Pick n Pay School Club for their participation in the Pick n Pay art competition, Animal Generation.

Pick n Pay’s Animal Generation competition, in conjunction with Cartoon Network, invited pupils from across South Africa to design their own cartoon animal characters.

“The pupils were presented with the task of researching, designing and drawing their own unique animal cartoon characters,” said Chantel Gregersen, regional manager for Pick nPay.

The school won the prize for the most quality and quantity entries.

Sne Langa, a Grade 5 pupil, designed a friendly monster. “My cartoon character has big ears, big eyes and big hands. She is a monster that likes to help people,” said Langa.

The competition exposed Langa to the world of cartoon character designing and animation. “I would very much like to study cartoon designing and animation,” said Langa.
